Nizhny Novgorod
Nizhny Novgorod is a city in Central Russia, the administrative centre of the Volga Federal district and the Nizhny Novgorod region. The largest city in the Volga Federal district and on the Volga river. It was founded in 1221 by Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich of Vladimir.
The city is located in the centre of the East European plain at the confluence of the Oka and Volga. Oka divides the city into two parts: the Nagorno — top, Dyatlov mountains, and lower - lower, on her left low-lying shore. The Volga river divides Nizhny Novgorod and Bor.
